Wills

Whatever your age, if you have assets you should have a Will. No-one likes to think of not being here anymore but this is the reason it is vital that you plan ahead. Not only will it give you the security and piece of mind of knowing that those that you love are taken care of but it may also help to avoid expensive arguments after your passing over who gets what and why. It is also particularly important if you have children as you will need to think about who you would want to look after them if you weren’t able to.

By drafting your Will you will avoid the Statutory Intestacy rules which state who will benefit from your property and possessions after you are gone. You will also be able to make gifts to charity, state whether you would rather be buried or cremated or state whether you have any directions you wish your executors to be aware of, for example if you wanted your ashes scattered somewhere special.
Making a Will is not difficult and you will be seen by a qualified person who will help make it easier with any and all of the following:

Our advisors strive to provide a sensitive and tailored service and will be happy to answer any queries you may have. We can provide a fact sheet prior to your appointment which may help direct you to the kind of matters you wish to think about when making your Will. Please contact our Wills and Probate Department if you have any questions or would like further information on this service.

Home visits are possible by prior appointment.

Our office is on the ground floor with no stairs to worry about and there is parking behind our offices and on the Sunbury Cross Slip Road. We can come to see you at your home if this is more convenient. There will be a small charge for this.

Probate

The task of obtaining a Grant of Probate and administering an estate during a time of loss can be a difficult and overwhelming task.
We can be there to help you with all of the aspects of Probate from collecting in the estate information such as bank accounts, savings certificates, and arranging the valuation of items, to completing the Inland Revenue Accounts, paying any Inheritance Tax necessary and the administration of the estate once the Grant of Probate has been issued.

We will keep you informed at all times as to the progress of the Probate but at the same time help to take the strain out of dealing with the estate.

We are experienced in dealing with estates of all sizes and pride ourselves on a high level of personal service and ensuring that we make the process easier for you and your loved ones.

There is a lot of information to obtain before we can begin to understand the extent of an estate and for this reason we can provide you with a questionnaire before your appointment with us to help speed the process up and make sure that your appointment with us is focussed.

Please contact us if you would like to talk to someone about how we can help you.
